Nigerian Does

Udderly Topnotch P Pandora

Pandora came to the farm spring of 2021. She was sold to someone who just wasn’t ready to be milking goats. Pandoras udder has amazingly long teats for a Nigerian. She kidded with triplets in march of 22 and raised all 3 by herself. Pandora has decided to be an overachiever in our herd. This year for her 3rd freshening she gave us our first ever quints, even better they were four does and only one buckling. We sadly lost one doeling as she was just so small and nothing we did could get her up and going. We pulled two and left her buck and one doeling to raise. She again did a great job we retained the bottle doeling. She has been bred to Renegade with the hopes that her kids will have big, beautiful udders that produce well with perfect teats for hand milking. She appraised +V+G 82 in august of 22022 and the appraised commended her for her rump width and levelness she received an E in rump. Definitely something that Nigerians need to improve on so there are less kidding issues. Sadly we couldn’t appraise this year as the only days available conflicted with my daughters 4h fair.

Jerg’s Macchiato

Jerg’s Macchiato is Starbucks’ doeling from 2021. She is a beautiful girl and freshened with a pretty little udder for her first kidding. She had a single doeling in March of 22 and was a great mom. For her second freshening Macchiato continues to impress us. She freshened on March 1st of 2023 with triplets, however due to being in a community pen she rejected both doe kids. She did an amazing job raising her buckling. We retained one doeling as an addition to our Nigerian herd. She was appraised August of 2022 +V+G 82

Bending Birch Farm Starbucks

Bending Birch Farm Starbucks is our first Nigerian Dwarf doe. Rosie used the money she earned auctioning off her market animals for 4h. Thanks to the generosity of Gardenview Farm Nigerians out in Freedom, Ny Rosie was able to purchase a flashy doeling out of great milking and show lines. Her first freshening she gave birth to 2 bucklings. Since she was a first freshener we wethered them and sold them as pets. They were extremely cute with their moonspots. Her second freshening she had quads. 2 girls and 2 boys. Sadly one of each died before I got out there to check on her. She is a great momma but she had a rough last few weeks of pregnancy and babies came home at night to be bottle fed so she could recover. She took them back and raised them. Her third freshening she had a single huge buck kid whom she dam raised. He was sold as a breeding buck and will hopefully go on to sire some beautiful kids. For her 4th freshening starbucks gave us triplets, 2 bucks and one doe, which we have retained. She was appraised on August 22, 2022 for the first time and had the highest score of any of our does. She appraised VVEV 88. This was while being stale and only being milked once a day. Amazing!

Moorman Creek Poppy

Moorman creek Poppy came to us unregistered from a situation where she had lost her sister and was all alone. The papers that finally showed up more than six months later were just a great big bonus. She is ags registered so as of right now all kids can only be ags registered until adgas ng system finally gets the ability to transfer ags goats. She is a beautiful cream and white with blue eyes. She freshened with triplets as a first freshener in may of 2023 and had such an amazing udder I kept one of her bucklings.

Jerg’s Pandoras Mystery River

River is pandoras 2023 doeling. She is Cream and White She had some darker coloring as a young kid but it has slowly faded away and she looks a lot like mom. I cannot wait to see her udder next year. Hoping for a nice big udder with great handmilking teats.

Jerg’s Macchiatos Mystery Rain

Rain is Macchiatos doeling from 2023. She is buckskin with a small white dot on her poll that is slowly getting smaller and a white tip on her tail.

Jerg’s Stars Raspberry Mocha

Raspberry is starbucks baby from 2023. She is a very flashy little girl. I cannot wait to see what her udder looks like. She is being linebred to her father, Myster for 2024.

Jerg’s Pumpkins M Raven

Raven is Pumpkins doeling from 2023. She was a bottle baby as Pumpkin decided that motherhood was not for her and wouldn’t even clean her babies off. Fortunately I happened to be there when they were born and was able to save both Raven and her brother. I am hoping that Raven does not have the mothering instincts of her dam. She was the first goat I ever had that had absolutely no interest in her kids no matter what I did. Pumpkin did have a promising udder so I hope that Raven follows in her footsteps in that regard.
